With Te Araroa walkers and oversees visitors passing through the store, we’re often asked where to get lunch in the area so we thought we’d share with you where the Coffee Outdoors team likes to fill their puku on a lunch break.
Pour & TwistJust around the corner from us at 13 Garrett Street is Pour & Twist. New Zealand’s first and only fully manual brew bar run by Elaine and Zuyu. Here you will find the tastiest coffee all made by Gold Filter, Chemex, Areopress and Siphon. They also serve the best matcha in town and when you need to cool off on a sunny day, the best homemade soda we have ever had!
The OateryLocated at 8 Left Bank, just off Cuba Street you’ll find The Oatery. Our go-to is usually the seasonal porridge or the soup of the week in winter. Anna’s porridge is like no other and if porridge isn’t your thing, there’s the option of different toasts, granola, chia pudding or a salad. Stunning.
The Greek Food TruckThe nearest truck to us is parked outside Moore Wilson’s on Tory Street and they are open 11am – 3pm Monday to Sunday. Their signature dish is the Souvlaki but they also make a great Greek Salad (pictured here) and is our pick of choice.
August EateryLucky enough to be just around the corner from us at 75 Taranaki Street is August Eatery. August has been the supplier of the donuts for many of our monthly Run for the Hills trail runs. You can dine in or also get items from the menu takeaway. The sandwich is 10/10 and great to take to the park on a fine day.
1154Located on the corner of Cuba and Ghuznee Street, 1154 is where we send people who are hangry and keen to do some people watching. They serve fresh, fast and delicious bowls of pasta with organic wine and good vibes. You'll often find us sat in the window after work on a weekend!
Cafe LazLost for words on how to describe Cafe Laz. Best Turkish in town and run by the loveliest people. They have a permanent spot in Newtown but last year they opened a tiny kiosk at 112 Cuba Street and we couldn’t be happier to have them close. The perfect lunch spot with a variety of options.
Dilly DallyDilly Dally serve salads that aren't shit. Yum, tasty and healthy options! Located at 126 Vivian Street and open 9am – 3pm on weekdays. Salads, smoothies and the best miso cookie!Other honorable mentions include Customs, Swimsuit, Commonsense Organics, Mimosa Kitchen, Freds and Moore Wilson's cheese & pickle roll.
Whether at home, eating lunch in the park or out on the trails, we always find ourselves reaching for a spork to eat with!
