The Yamatomichi THREE Backpack is the perfect combination of ultralight and comfort for your long distance or multi-day hikes. An ultralight 40-45L frameless pack that carries a real load without a stiff hip belt getting in the way of your stride. Although it's frameless, it's engineered to spread the weight naturally across your shoulders and hips and the free moving 38mm webbing hip belt keeps your waist loose to twist and step, so you feel about 70 percent of the load on your back and 30 on your hips while comfortably carrying up to around 10kg. Fine tune the carry with the shoulder straps and load lifters and get at your gear fast through the water repellent zippered main compartment. The THREE is built for multi day and even winter hikes, with plenty of ways to attach extra gear. Use the front bungee cord, side straps and bottom attachment loops to fix a sleeping mat, snowshoes, an ice axe or trekking poles. This is the Mesh, with a big hard mesh front pocket that keeps everything in view and lets a wet tent or shell drain and dry as you walk, an ultralight favourite though a love or hate thing in our rain. It's built from X-Pac UX10, the lightest laminate X-Pac makes, fully hydrophobic and tough at under half the weight of standard pack cloth, though like all ultralight UHMWPE laminates the backing rewards a little care over the years. Size guide:
Back length - Measure your torso from the C7 vertebra (the bony bump at the base of your neck) to the most prominent part of your hip bone.
Medium: back length 45-54cm, suits heights around 150-175cm.
Large: back length 54-57cm, suits heights around 170-190cm.
