Welcome to Coffee Outdoors 🏕️

Kia ora! This chat is handled by a real person 😇 Ask any questions and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Back in May, Rachel Entrekin ran 402 kilometres across Arizona over three days and two nights on nineteen minutes of sleep and won the Cocodona 250. Not the women's race. The whole thing! She's the first woman ever to win it outright, crossing the line over an hour ahead of the first man and taking more than two hours off the overall course record. The shoe on her feet was the Norda 055, a model nobody could buy yet. UNTIL NOW.

We'll be honest with you, you won't find one Strava app between us here at Coffee Outdoors. We run purely for fun, not to race, but with four of the five of us being women, and women being our biggest crowd too, we couldn't help but burst with pride when Rachel won.

You don't have to race 402km to wear the Norda 055 but they've been designed to take you on your biggest adventures. Here's how the new Norda 055 sits in our range.

The 001A. The workhorse.

This is the one you'll reach for the most! It's Norda's original shoe and the one the whole brand was built on, now running the same Arnitel foam family as the racier models so there's a lot more bounce underfoot than there used to be. You get moderate cushion and a wide, stable platform with the famously hard to kill woven Dyneema upper that's stronger than steel for its weight. It's built to outlast pretty much any other option out there, and that's really the point of it. A shoe that lasts is a shoe that stays out of landfill! It's the one we'd point you to for a thru hike like Te Araroa purely because of how reliable it is, so you can go anywhere and run anything and know it'll still be going long after cheaper shoes have packed it in.

The 005. The fast one.

Norda's lightest and quickest shoe, and the one that changed things for them, because the 005 is where that now famous Arnitel foam first turned up, a midsole with the sort of energy return you'd normally only get in a road super shoe. It's a stripped back racer with a minimal stack and nothing on it you don't need, the shoe you save for the race day. But here's the thing we didn't quite expect, because so many of you have come in and told us you're running the road in them too, and when we mentioned it to the team at Norda they told us the exact same thing, that the foam is just so lively on hard ground that people can't help themselves. So it's a race shoe first, but it turns out it's a good deal more versatile than that.

The 055. The big mission.

The new arrival and the opposite end of the range from the 005, because where the 005 counts grams the 055 counts hours. There's a lot more foam underfoot and a taller stack and a brand new one piece knit collar that wraps right around your ankle and locks your foot in while it keeps all the trail grit on the outside where it belongs. It's the same Arnitel and Dyneema the 005 made famous, just more of everything, and that foam holds onto its bounce whether you're out in summer heat or an alpine cold snap, so it won't bottom out on you when you're deep into a big day. It's built for big mountains and your best achievements, which is exactly why it turned up on Rachel's feet at a 402km race.
