What is super interesting here is that all of the fabrics that they have developed in collaboration with Pertex® use the same nylon base, it is just the different coatings and processes give them different levels of air permeability, this keeps the look and feel consistent and simple. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePertex Quantum - the front and outer arms where you need the most wind protection. The base fabric is heated under pressure to tighten the weave, significantly increasing the natural wind protection. It is then coated with a thin acrylic that fills the gaps between the fibres to finish the process which results in a fabric that has close to 0 air permeability. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePertex Quantum Air - the  back and center hood. Here the fabric is trying to balance wind protection with breathability, allowing heat to release without making you feel too cold. This is the fabric in its purest form, uncompressed and uncoated.
